Hi Reader,

I'd love to share a little story with you today.

For many years, alongside my private nutrition practice, Occidental Nutrition, I taught at Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts. To be honest, it was my dream job.

When I was younger, I thought I'd become an elementary school teacher. After spending time in a classroom, I realized it wasn't quite the right fit for me (my deepest respect to all of the wonderful teachers shaping the next generation).

But then I walked into a classroom filled with adults who had chosen to be there. They arrived with notebooks open, questions ready, and a genuine desire to learn. I showed up overprepared every week because I loved the material so much, and together we explored nutrition, physiology, and the incredible wisdom of the human body.

“Mary Sheila is one of the best teachers I've encountered in all of my studies. She is deeply passionate about nutrition, lives what she teaches, and has profoundly shaped how I see the world of nutrition while helping me discover my own passions and strengths. Bauman College was fortunate to have her expertise and generous spirit.”

Those seven years were some of the most rewarding of my career.

Even though I no longer teach at Bauman, I realized something important:

I've never stopped being a teacher.

Whether I'm working one-on-one with a client, speaking at a conference, leading a retreat, or teaching a class, helping people understand their bodies is still one of my greatest joys.

This spring, I taught a four-hour class at the Northern California Women's Herbal Symposium. As I reflected on it afterward, I realized it reminded me of a great bike ride or a perfect day in the ocean. Time disappeared. We went deep. There were moments when you could almost see the light bulbs going on, and everyone left inspired and excited about what becomes possible when we truly begin nourishing our greatest asset, ourselves.

But over the years, I've also learned something else.

Information, by itself, rarely changes lives.

Most people already know they should eat more vegetables, drink more water, move their bodies, and get enough sleep.

What creates lasting change is having a place to keep learning, ask questions, practice new habits, and be surrounded by people who are walking the same path.

That's why I created the Vitality Club, and for the next 4 days, the doors are open to join.

It's more than a membership. It's a community of people who are committed to healthy aging, building sustainable habits, and discovering that it's never too late to feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

One of those members is JoAnne. She's been part of the Vitality Club for several years, and her story beautifully illustrates what can happen when small, consistent changes become part of everyday life.

I'd love for you to hear her story.

Perhaps you'll see a little of yourself in her journey.

Your Vitality Ally,

Mary Sheila

P.S. JoAnne's story isn't about finding the perfect diet. It's about what became possible when she found a community that helped her stay consistent. I think you'll find it inspiring.
